Nany Torossian is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans painting, mixed media, collage, and sculpture. Her work reflects a lifelong engagement with culture, memory, identity, and artistic exploration.
Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, during the Lebanese Civil War, Nany pursued her studies in Fine Arts within a culturally rich and diverse environment. Growing up surrounded by multiple languages, traditions, and artistic influences shaped both her worldview and creative expression. She received her formal art education at the Académie Michel-Ange des Beaux-Arts, the Toros Roslin Academy of Hamazkayin, and the Lebanese University.
Following her graduation, Nany began teaching art while actively participating in numerous collective exhibitions throughout Beirut. Her dual passion for artistic practice and education became a defining part of her professional journey.
In 2002, Nany relocated to Burlingame, California, where she became the first art teacher at KZV Armenian School in San Francisco. She later established independent art classes for children, continuing her commitment to arts education and creative community engagement.
In September 2024, Nany conducted a workshop at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles, expanding her role as both an educator and practicing artist.
From January through June 2026, Nany facilitated weekly community art sessions at the Burlingame Recreation Center, creating a welcoming space for participants to engage in artistic practice.
Nany’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across the United States, reflecting an evolving artistic practice grounded in storytelling, material exploration, and cultural experience.
